Instruments – At national level
There are several instruments for the protection of defenders in each country. These are either the Constitutions of different countries or the laws protecting defenders.
If in the DRC a law on “Protection and Responsibility of Human Rights Defenders” has already been promulgated, it should be noted that in other countries such as Cameroon and the CAR, discussions are advanced with a view to adoption and the promulgation of such a law.
