REDHAC had direct collaboration with national level mechanisms (National Human Rights Institutions of certain Central African countries);  regional (the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR), in particular the Special Rapporteur for the protection of Human Rights Defenders in Africa, focal point on reprisals in Africa); international (the United Nations in particular the Special Rapporteurs on the situation of Human Rights Defenders in the world, Special Rapporteur on freedom of association and assembly, specific study groups), diplomatic representations and regional and international organizations for the promotion and defense of Human Rights and the prevention, resolution of conflicts, peace and human security.

At national level

REDHAC advocates with country diplomatic representations and European Union delegations to:

legal protection of Human Rights Defenders and in particular Women Human Rights Defenders and Vulnerable Human Rights Defenders

prevention, conflict resolution, peace and reconciliation through the effective implementation of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission in Cameroon, CAR and Chad
free and fair elections

encourage the States of Central Africa to respect freely ratified instruments, treaties and conventions 

Particularly in the following contexts:

  1. The Reflection Workshop with Women Parliamentarians in the CAR supported UNDP Program On the law project initiated and contextualized by REDHAC and its members on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights Defenders in the CAR in May 2022, To date, women parliamentarians have introduces bill to parliament

  2. Organization of training of trainers on the Physical Protection Manual, data security and online for DDF, FDDH and journalists from June 28 to July 1, 2022 in Douala financially supported by UNDP

  3. Meeting with Mr. Diagana Ousmane, Vice-President of the World Bank for the Central and West Africa Region – Exchanges with Cameroonian civil society organizations on current issues (governance and diversification economic, human capital, conflict prevention, socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 and government response as well as access to electricity in March 2021

  4. Participation in the Generation Equality Forum in March 2021 organized by UN Women, co-chaired by France and Mexico

  5. Meeting with the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Central Africa and Head of the United Nations Regional Office for this region (UNOCA): H.E François Louncény Fall for the Assessment of the evolution of the situation in the affected areas by Boko Haram including the consequences of the crisis on populations and national and regional responses to respond to the crisis in September 2021
  6. Meeting with a delegation from the United Nations Office for Central Africa (UNOCA) is in Cameroon in September 2022. The mission is composed of Ms. Aissata Athie and Mr. Mohamed Hassani, both responsible for political affairs within the Research and analysis unit to discuss issues related to peace and security in Cameroon.
  7. Collaboration with Mireille Kamitatu, Peace & Development Advisor at the United Nations Office in Cameroon and Louis-Marie BOUAKA, Regional Representative and Director
  8. United Nations Center for Human Rights and Democracy in Central Africa (CNUDHD-AC) on the drafting of the memorandum proposed by REDHAC for the Establishment of a Justice, Truth and Reconciliation Commission

  9. Meeting with Mr. Alassane Ba, UNDP Resident Representative in Cameroon at REDHAC headquarters in February 2022 to discuss the Human Rights situation in NOSO and avenues for collaboration

  10. Meeting in May 2019 with the United Nations High Commissioner, Michelle Bachelet with Cameroonian civil society to discuss the Human Rights situation in Cameroon and in particular the socio-political crisis in the English-speaking regions and propose recommendations

I. The Ministries of Justice

REDHAC collaborated with the Ministries of Justice in Chad, CAR, Congo in particular the Ministry of Justice, Directorate of Human Rights and International Cooperation of Cameroon for the evaluation of the implementation of the National Action Plan for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (2015-2019) and its contributions for the implementation of the recommendations of the 3rd Cycle of the Universal Periodic Review for April 2020.

II. National Human Rights Institutions (NHRI)

REDHAC Collaborates with National Human Rights Institutions (INDH) to Advocacy for the promotion and protection of Human Rights and the legal protection of Defenders and the Implementation of the Marachech 2018 recommendations on protection of the Defenders and the real independence of the ACHPR through several advocacy campaigns.
